My name is Shawn Ayres, and I’m the founder of Fowl Forty One. I've loved the outdoors for as long as I can remember. Hunting has been my passion since I was a kid. I grew up pursuing deer and exotics, learning the land and building a deep respect for the hunt. In recent years, I found a new obsession in waterfowl, and it quickly became my primary focus. Now, I'm on a mission to complete the North American Waterfowl Slam — the 41 — and I’m determined to finish it by 2030.

My name is Derrick Oliver. At Fowl Forty One, I lead marketing and sales, with a focus on building meaningful connections between our brand and fellow hunters across the country. I’m especially driven by our mission and the challenge we’ve set for ourselves and our community — the Fowl Forty One Challenge, inspired by the pursuit of the North American Waterfowl Slam. Chasing all 41 recognized species of waterfowl in North America is more than a goal — it’s a journey that demands grit, respect for the resource, and relentless drive.
